Wednesday, July 22nd, 2009 RoCSIRT (RoEduNet Computer Security Incident Response Team [1]) is the first public CSIRT [2] service in Romania. RoCSIRT and the service team have been accredited by Trusted Introducer [3], organization that provides accreditation services to CSIRT’s operated by NREN’s or by other entities in Europe.
Problems generated by UPC

Friday, July 10th, 2009 Starting with June 8th 2009 around 1 p.m. in RoEduNet network we begin to experience problems reaching some destinations in the Internet, including Yahoo and Google. The problem was reported to DANTE (the operator of the European Research and Education Network GEANT) and further to the operator Telia Sonera, the provider for connections between GEANT and Internet. RoEduNet, DANTE and Telia Sonera conducted investigations, including a conference call, and finally the problem was identified as being generated in the UPC network.
New DWS connection

Friday, June 26th, 2009 Yesterday, June 25, 2009 a new connection for the commecial traffic of RoEduNet has been installed in production.
The connection is supplied by DANTE, the coordinator of the GEANT project. The type of interface is 10 Gbps Ethernet with a commited rate of 2 Gbps. The connection to GEANT will also provide DWS (Dante World Services) traffic in case of this link failure. Also, the DWS connection will permit traffic to GEANT when GEANT connection fail.
Media content support

Thursday, May 14th, 2009 After some repeated attempts and various testing phases, the support for the multimedia contents look stable enough to be used in production service. At this moment multimedia content could be uploaded and shown in pages.
First primary menu has been finalized but only for the romanian version.

Site installation

Friday, May 8th, 2009 Finnaly the web site was installed, but there is still a lot of work to do to publish the primary content, to make fine adjustements. Also, there is some work in progress to deal with multimedia content.
